Start with selvage stitch and stitches before the pattern repeat, perform the pattern repeat, and finish with stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 selvage stitch. Repeat the 1st-24th rows.
Stitches Control:
Grit pattern: 15 stitches x 26.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Patterns order: 13 rows = 6 cm.
Instructions
Back
Cast on 63 (75) 87 stitches using knitting needles size 5 and silver-grey yarn, and make 6 cm = 13 rows following the patterns order for the lower placket. Change to dark-grey yarn and continue working with the grit pattern. At 42.5 cm = 112 rows (40 cm = 106 rows) 37.5 cm = 100 rows from the lower placket, bind off 1 x 6 stitches from both sides for armholes = 51 (63) 75 stitches. At 57.5 cm = 152 rows from the lower placket, bind off the central 17 stitches for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For a smooth neck-hole, bind off 1 x 2 stitches and 1 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row from inwards. At 59.5 cm = 158 rows from the lower placket, bind off the remaining 14 (20) 26 stitches of the shoulder. Finish the second side symmetrically.
Front
Make in the same way as the back, but for a deeper neck-hole, bind off the central 11 stitches at 50.5 cm = 134 rows from the lower placket and bind off 6 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row from inwards.
Sleeves
Cast on 39 stitches with knitting needles size 5 using silver-grey yarn and make 6 cm = 13 rows following the patterns order for the placket. Continue working with the grit pattern. For chamfers, increase 6 x 1 stitch in every 18th row (10 x 1 stitch in every 12th and 10th rows by turn) and 14 x 1 stitch in every 8th and 6th rows by turn = 51 (59) 67 stitches, including the increased stitches in the pattern. At 46 cm = 122 rows (46 cm = 122 rows) 41.5 cm = 110 rows from the placket, bind off all stitches in one row.
Assembly
Fasten diagonal lines of the grit pattern with slip stitches using silver-grey yarn and crochet hook size 6. Make shoulder seams. For trim, cast on 39 stitches for the front with circular knitting needles and silver-grey yarn along the front neck-hole, and 27 stitches along the back neck-hole = 66 stitches, then make 1 round of purls. Next, work with patterns order from *. After making 13 rows, create 6 cm of stockinette stitch with dark-grey yarn. Finally, bind off all stitches as knit stitches. Fold the placket in half and sew with the WS. Sew up the sleeves, and make side and sleeve seams.
