How to Knit a Stylish Sweater with Alia Moda Alpaca Yarn

You’ll Need:

200 (250) 300g of red Alia Moda Alpaca yarn (90% alpaca, 5% wool, 5% polyamide);

200 (250) 300g of red sectional coloring Colupo yarn (53% wool, 47% polyamide; 100m/50g);

Knitting needles size 6;

Short circular knitting needles size 6.

Size:

S (M) L.

Used Patterns:

1 x 1 rib;

Honeycomb pattern: the quantity of stitches is a multiple of 14 + 0 (6) 0 + 2 selvage stitches.

Work according to the scheme, where only right-side rows are stated. Make wrong-side rows stitches as they face. Repeat the pattern for sizes S and L. For size M, start with 1 selvage stitch and stitches before arrow A, pattern repeat, finish with stitches before arrow B and 1 selvage stitch. Make rows 1-26 once, then repeat rows 3-26.

Stitches Control:

14.5 stitches x 26.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 72 (78) 86 stitches with Alia Moda Alpaca yarn in criss-cross method and make 4 cm of 1 x 1 rib for the placket. Continue work with honeycomb pattern. In 54.5 cm = 144 rows from placket, leave all stitches, the central 28 (30) 32 stitches form the neck-hole, the outer 22 (24) 27 stitches form the shoulders.

Front:

Make in the same way as the back, but in 50.5 cm = 134 rows from placket, bind off the central 28 (30) 32 stitches and finish both sides separately. At the height of back, bind off the rest 22 (24) 27 stitches of the shoulder.

Sleeves:

Cast on 44 stitches with Alia Moda Alpaca yarn in criss-cross method and make 4 cm of 1 x 1 rib for the placket. Continue work with honeycomb pattern, repeat the pattern between selvage stitches. In 16.5 cm = 44 rows from placket, increase 1 x 1 stitch for sleeve chamfers, then, bind off 4 x 1 stitch in every 12th row (7 x 1 stitch in every 6th and 8th rows by turns) 10 x 1 stitch in every 4th and 6th rows by turns = 54 (60) 66 stitches. In 37 cm = 98 rows from placket, bind off all stitches.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams with kitchener’s stitch. Cast on the previously left 28 (30) 32 stitches for the front and back neck-hole with circular knitting needles, make 8 stitches with Alia Moda Alpaca yarn from both sides and make 6 circular rows of right-side stitches on all (72) 76 80 stitches. Bind off all stitches. Sew up the sleeves, and make side and sleeve seams.
