Honeycombs with Cables

Repeat 1^st-52^nd rows.

Honeycomb Pattern

The quantity of sts is multiple of 4. Work according to scheme 2, on which only RS rows are stated; make WS rows as purls. Repeat 1^st-4^th rows.

Honeycomb Pattern with Circle Rows

The quantity of sts is multiple of 4. Work according to scheme 2, on which odd circle rows are stated. Make even circle rows with knit sts. Repeat 1^st-4^th circle rows.

Stitches Control:

21.5 sts x 23.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 78 (86) 94 sts with knitting needles 5 and make 3 cm with stockinette stitch for twisted placket. Increase 24 sts in the last WS row = 102 (110) 118 sts. Continue work with knitting needles 5.5 in the following way: 1 selvage st, 0 (4) 8 sts with honeycomb pattern, 100 sts with honeycomb with cables pattern, and finish with 0 (4) 8 sts with honeycomb pattern. In 53.5 cm = 126 rows from twisted placket, bind off 1 x 6 (8) 8 sts from both sides for shoulder chamfer. Then, bind off 2 x 4 sts (1 x 6 sts and 1 x 4 sts) 2 x 6 sts in every 2^nd row. In 56 cm = 132 rows from twisted placket, bind off the rest 74 sts; the central 66 sts form neck-hole, outer 4 (4) 6 sts – shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way as back, but for the neck-hole, bind off the central 26 sts in 47.5 cm = 112 rows from twisted placket and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 4 x 4 sts and 2 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row from inwards. In 56 cm = 132 rows from twisted placket, bind off the rest 4 (6) 6 sts.

Sleeves

Cast on 54 sts for each sleeve and make twisted placket in the same way as for back. Increase 16 sts in the last WS row = 70 sts. Continue work with honeycomb pattern with cables with knitting needles 5.5, starting with 1 selvage st and sts before arrow A, repeat pattern x twice, and finish with sts before arrow B and 1 selvage st. In 34 cm = 80 rows from twisted placket, increase 1 x 1 st from both sides for sleeve chamfer. Then, increase 1 x 1 st in the next 20^th row (5 x 1 st in every 6^th row), 6 x 1 st in every 4^th row, and 3 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 74 (82) 90 sts. In 49.5 cm = 116 rows from twisted placket, bind off all sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. For the placket, cast on 120 sts along neck-hole and work with honeycomb pattern with circle rows. Bind off all sts at 9 cm width of placket. Sew up the sleeves and make side and sleeve seams.
