How to Knit a Stylish Summer Sweater

300g of pink Summer yarn (70% cotton, 30% viscose);

Used Patterns
- Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;
- Garter stitch: in RS and WS rows – knit sts, in circle rows - * 1 knit st, 1 purl*;
- 2 x 2 rib;
- Relief pattern 1: according to scheme 1, on which both RS and WS rows are stated.
- Relief pattern 2: according to scheme 2, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows and yarn overs as purls.
Instructions
Back/ Front
Cast on 97 sts and make 12 rows with relief pattern 1. Then, increase 3 sts = 100 sts and make 10 rows of stockinette stitch, 30 cm with 2 x 2 rib and 8 rows with relief pattern 2. Then, bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row. At 15 rows height of the main pattern 2, bind off the central 18 sts for neck-hole and finish each side separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 12 x 1 st. Bind off the remaining sts of shoulder at 19 cm height from the beginning of making arm-hole. Make the second side in symmetry.
Sleeves
Cast on 58 sts and make 12 rows with relief pattern 1, increase 1 st in every 6th row from both sides for sleeve chamfers. Then, make 10 rows of stockinette stitch, followed by 2 x 2 rib. In 11 cm, bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 19 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 3 sts in every 2nd row from both sides for sleeve caps. Bind off the remaining sts.
Assembly
Make shoulder, sleeve and side seams. Sew up sleeves in the arm-holes. Cast on the needed quantity of sts along the neck-hole with circular knitting needles and make 3 rows of garter stitch. Bind off the sts.
