You’ll Need:

Approx. 700g of Rumba yarn (100% cotton; 110m/50g);

Knitting needles 3.5;

7 buttons.

Measurements

Chest circumference: 100 cm;

Length: 70 cm.

Stitches Control

34 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 74 sts and make 2 cm of riffled pattern (3 knit sts, 3 purls by turn).

Then, divide the sts in the following way: 24 sts of riffled pattern, * 15 sts of zigzags pattern, 21 sts of riffled pattern*; repeat from * to * x 3 times, 3 knit sts. At 53 cm height, start forming arm-holes. Bind off 9 sts from both sides, then, decrease 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row. At 68 cm height, bind off the central 46 sts for neck-hole, then, decrease 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row. At 70 cm height, bind off all the sts.

Left Front

Cast on 88 sts and work with riffled pattern; make 1 x 1 rib after 7 sts of placket. After making 2 cm, create motifs in the same way as for the back. Form arm-hole from the right side in the same way as for the back. At 50 cm height from the left side, make knit2tog for neck-hole line. Repeat these decreases x 5 times in every 2nd row, then, in every 4th row x 7 times. Bind off the sts of shoulders at 70 cm height, make the sts of placket to 10 cm height.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left.

Sleeves

Cast on 63 sts and work with riffled pattern. After making 2 cm, create zigzags pattern in the center of the detail and riffled pattern from both sides. Increase 1 st in every 6th row from both sides, including the increased sts in the riffled pattern. At 50 cm height, bind off 9 sts from both sides, then, decrease 5 x 3 sts, 2 x 2 sts, and 2 x 3 sts in every 2nd row. Bind off all the sts in the next even row.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams, sew placket to the back neck-hole. Sew up the sleeves, and make side and sleeve seams. Finally, sew buttons.
