Schachenmayr Catania 50 g/137 yds, Sport Yarn, 5ply, crochet hook 2.5 mm, polyester fiber fill stuffing.

Instructions

I don't join rounds with the help of slip stitch but crochet in a circle.

RND 1: 6 sc in a magic circle.

RND 2: inc 6 times (12 sts)

RND 3: *sc in next st, inc* (18 sts)

RND 4: *sc in each of next 2 sts, inc* (24 sts)

RND 5: sc in each of next 24 sts

RND 6: *sc in each of next 3 sts, inc* (30 sts)

RND 7 (working in the back loop): sc in each of next 30 sts

RND 8: *dec, sc in each of next 3 sts* (24 sts)

RND 9: *dec, sc in each of next 2 sts* (18 sts)

RND 10-15: sc in each of next 18 sts

RND 16: *sc in each of next 2 sts, inc* (24 sts)

RND 17: *sc in each of next 3 sts, inc* (30 sts)

RND 18: sc in each of next 30 sts

Finishing

Weave in any loose ends with a yarn needle. To create the classic pincushion tuft, wrap a length of yarn tightly around the center a few times and pull snugly to create an indentation, then secure with a knot and hide the tail by threading it back into the stuffing. Trim any excess yarn.

Tips & Variations

• Stuff firmly so the pincushion holds pins easily; add more stuffing if needed before closing the opening.
