Ears
Make 2 in yellow.

- Rd 3: 2sc around (10)

- Rd 6: sc around (15)

Ear Insides
Make 2 in brown.
- Rd 1: ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each st to last ch. 3 sc in last ch. Turn to work in bottom of chains. sc across to end. 3sc in last ch (13)
- Rd 2: sc in 6, 2sc in 2sc, sc in 5 (15) sl st and FO. Sew to ear.
Eyes
Make 2 in white.
- Make a semi-circle: Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk. ch 1, turn.
- Row 2: 2sc across (12). sl st and FO.
- Attach brown to the flat part of the semi-circle with a sl st. Working across the flat part: Sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc in 2. ch 3. FO.
Eye Pupils
In black:
- Rd 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk (6). Sl st, FO, sew to eye whites. Use white to embroider an eye sparkle. Sew eyes to the face – the brown part is the top and the ch 3 of the brown is lateral.
Mouth
If desired, use pink or black to embroider a smile.
Neck/Body
In yellow. Hold your giraffe head upside down.
- Rd 1: plot out a circle of 35 stitches. You may use chalk or stitch markers to assist you. Attach yellow with a sl st and follow the circle by sc around (35).
- Rd 2-10: sc around (35).
- Rd 11: sc in 31 (ensure you are in the center of the back) ch 13, sc down the ch as follows: 2sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch down; sc in foundation where ch begins, sc in last 4 st (61).
- Rd 12: sc in 31, sc in 11, 2sc in 3, sc in 16 (64).
- Rd 13: sc in 43, 2sc in 2, sc, 2sc, sc, 2sc, sc in 15 (68).
- Rd 14: sc in 44, 2sc, sc, 2sc, sc in 21 (70).
- Rd 15-16: sc around (70).
- Rd 17: (sc in 9, sc2tog)x6, sc in 4 (64).
- Rd 18: (sc in 6, sc2tog) around (56).
- Rd 19-20: sc around (56).
- sl st, FO.
To complete the body, it will be divided into sections.
First, identify the front middle 4 st and make a flap as follows:
- Row 1: attach yellow with a sl st, sc in 4.
- Rd 2-5: ch 1, turn sc in 4. sl st, FO, leave a long end to sew.
Repeat the above process in the middle 4 stitches of the back.
Your legs will take up 7 stitches on either side of the front and back flaps. Count 7 stitches from the front flap. On the 8th stitch, attach yellow with a sl st to make the belly flap.
- Row 1: sc in 10 center stitches.
- Row 2-10: ch 1, turn, sc across (10). Attach across to the other side of the belly by sl or sewing (ensure there are 7 free stitches on either side of front and back flaps).
You can begin to stuff the neck and body. Set the body aside to make the limbs:
Feet
In brown (make 4).
- Rd 1: ch 2, 7 sc in 2nd ch from hk (7).
- Rd 2: 2sc around (14).
- Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (21).
- Rd 4: in back loops, sc around (21).
- Rd 5: sc around (21).
- Rd 6: (sc, sc2tog) around (14).
- Switch to yellow and FO brown.
- Rd 7-23: sc around (14). sl st and FO.
- Stuff.
Assembly
Sew the front and back flaps to the middle flap. The space that is left over is for your legs.
Each leg has 14 sc. 7 of these sc will be sewn to the 7 empty st you left on the body and the remaining st will sew to the flaps. Stuff firmly as you sew everything into place. Weave in your ends.
Tail
In yellow.
- Rd 1: ch 2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hk (4).
- Rd 2-14: sc around (4).
- Switch to brown; FO yellow.
- Rd 15: 2sc around (8).
- Rd 16-18: sc around (8).
- Rd 19: sc2tog around (4). sl st, FO, sew closed. Sew yellow end to the back of the giraffe.
Brown Spots
Using the same brown or a different shade – crocheter’s choice.
Make 7 or more circles of various sizes and sew into place around the body. I made circles of 6, 8, 18 and 18 sc.
