  5. 2 DC in 1st stitch, DC in next 4 stitches. Repeat around (72 DC). Join. Ch 2.
  6. 2 DC in 1st stitch, DC in next 5 stitches. Repeat around (84 DC). Join. Ch 2.
  7. 2 DC in 1st stitch, DC in next 6 stitches. Repeat around (96 DC). Join. Ch 2.
  8. DC in each stitch around (96 DC). Join. Ch 2.
  9. Decrease DC, DC in next 6 stitches. Repeat around (84 DC). Join. Ch 2.
  10. Decrease DC, DC in next 5 stitches. Repeat around (72 DC). Join. Ch 2.
  11. Decrease DC, DC in next 4 stitches. Repeat around (60 DC). Join. Ch 1.

Tips for Successful Crocheting

A little tip: I crochet with really tight tension. You may need to go up or down a size hook to get the correct gauge. I also have a small head and I made this to fit my head (child/teen), so adjust accordingly.
