Scarf Instructions:
Row 1: Ch 17, sc in second ch from hk and in ea ch across, turn (16 sc)

Row 3: Repeat Row 2 (16 sc)
Row 4: Ch 2, dc in ea of next 2 sc, *ch 1, sk 1 sc, dc in ea of next 2 sc, rep from * to last 3 sc, dc in ea of last 3 sc, turn (12 dcs, 4 ch-1 spaces)
Row 5: Ch 1, sc in ea dc and ch-1 sp across, turn (16 sc)
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in ea sc across, turn (16 sc)
Row 7: Ch 1, sc in ea sc across, turn (16 sc)
Repeat Rows 4-7 until scarf is 58" long or desired length, ending with Row 7. Fasten off.
Finishing:
For fringe, cut 96 strands of yarn 14" long (wrap yarn around a 7” measure 96 times and cut wrap at one end). For each fringe, insert hook under two loops of each single crochet stitch at ends of scarf, fold 3 strands in half over hook, pull loop through, then pull ends of strands through loop on hook and tighten. Trim to desired length.
Hat Instructions:
Rnd 1: Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring (or use disappearing loop beginning method: wind yarn around forefinger once, insert hook into loop, yo, pull loop through ring), ch 3, work 11 dc in ring, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st at base of beg ch-3, *2 dc in each dc around, join with sl st to top of beg ch-3 (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st at base of beg ch-3, dc in next dc, *2 dcs in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of beg ch-3 (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st at base of beg ch-3, ch 1, skip 1 dc, *2 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 1 dc, rep from * around (36 dc, 18 ch-1 spaces)
