• The ch 2 at the beginning of Rnds 1, 2 and 3 do not count as a st.
• Beginning shell = (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc)

Directions

Rnd 1: Ch 3, work 12 dc in the 3rd ch from the hook. Join with a sl st to 1st dc. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in same dc as the joining st, 2 dc in each dc around. Join as before. (24 dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 dc in same dc as the joining st, dc in next dc. *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join as before. (36 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same dc as the joining st, sc in next dc. *ch 2, sc in each of the next 2 dc. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc.

Rnd 5: Sl st into next sc, sl st into ch-2 space, work beginning shell in same ch-2 space, v-st in next ch-2 space. *Shell in next ch-2 space, v-st in next ch-2 space. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

Rnd 6: Sl st into next dc, sl st into ch-2 space of shell, beginning shell in same ch-2 space, shell in next v-st. *Shell in next shell, shell in next v-st. Repeat from * around. Join as before.
