Special Stitch
Shell = [sc, ch 3, 4 dc] all into the same stitch.
dc2tog = double crochet 2 together - To make a dc2tog, work 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts but leave the last loop of each dc on the hook, (3 loops on hook), yo and through all 3 loops.
Important Note: Multiple of 4 sts + 1 (add 1 for base chain).
The quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 1 + 1 chain st increase.Instructions
1st Row (RS)
Work 1 shell into the 2nd ch from hook, *sk 3 ch, shell into the next ch; repeat from * to the last 4 ch, sk 3 ch, sc into the last ch, turn;
2nd Row
Ch 2, dc in the 1st st, sk 1 dc, over the next 2 sts work dc2tog, ch 3, sk 1 dc, sc into ch 3 sp. *Sk 1 sc & 1 dc, over the next 2 sts work dc2tog, ch 3, sk 1 dc, sc into ch 3 sp; repeat from * to end;
3rd Row
Ch 1, shell into the first st, *sk 3 ch and the next st, shell into the next sc; repeat from * ending skip 3 ch and the next st, sc into the top of tch, turn.
Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows.
