How to Knit Cozy Mittens with RED HEART® Mixology Yarn

Gauge
8 sts = 4” (10 cm); 12 rounds = 4” (10 cm), in Stockinette stitch (knit every round) with B. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

Size 11 or 8 mm, Double-Pointed Knitting Needles (DPNs)

- Susan Bates® Knitting Needles: 8 mm [US 11] set of 4 double pointed needles
- Stitch marker, yarn needle
Mitt (Make 2)
Cuff
With A, cast on 16 sts. Divide sts evenly onto 3 double pointed needles (place 5 sts on each of 2 needles and 6 sts on the 3rd). Place marker for beginning of round. Taking care not to twist sts, prepare to work in rounds. Rounds 1 and 2 (right side): Knit.
Rounds 3 and 4: Purl.
Rounds 5–8: Repeat Rounds 1–4.
Rounds 9 and 10: Knit.
Begin Hand
Change to B.
Rounds 1–7: Knit.
Thumb Opening
Turn at the end of Round 7 to begin working back and forth in rows.
Row 8 (wrong side): Slip 1 as if to purl, purl to end of row.
Row 9 (right side): Slip 1 as if to purl, knit to end of row.
Rows 10–13: Repeat Rows 8 and 9 twice. Do not turn at the end of Row 13.
Complete Hand
Resume working in rounds.
Rounds 14–18 (right side): Knit.
Round 19: Purl.
Bind off as if to knit.
Finishing
Weave in ends.
