How to Crochet a Beautiful Blanket with White and Blue Yarn


You’ll Need:
8 skeins of white yarn (50% wool, 50% viscose; 125m/50g) (color A);
8 skeins of the same yarn, but in blue color (color B);
Crochet hook 3.5 mm;
Stitch markers;
Scissors.
Size:
75 x 100 cm.
Special Stitches
Relief crochet: yarn over, insert crochet hook (front to back) under the crochet (base) of the previous row, draw the stitch, catch the yarn and draw it through the first 2 stitches on the crochet hook, catch the yarn and draw it through the remaining 2 stitches.
Stitch Control:
20 stitches x 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Blanket
Make 145 chain stitches with white yarn and a 3.5 mm crochet hook.
Base row: 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain stitch from the crochet hook, 1 double crochet in every chain stitch to the end of the row = 144 stitches.
1st row: 2 chain stitches increase, * relief crochet around stitch of the previous row, double crochet in double crochet of the previous row*; repeat from * to *, 1 relief crochet around stitch of the previous row, turn;
Make 7 rows according to the scheme. Cut A yarn.
Make 8 rows according to the scheme with B yarn. Cut it.
Then, make 8 rows according to the scheme with A yarn.
Repeat the stripes until the length of the blanket is 96 cm.
Fastening
For fastening, use color B yarn.
1st to 4th rows (WS): 1 chain stitch, single crochets to the end of the row.
Make 3 single crochets in the single crochet of the previous row in the corners of the finished work.
Fasten your work with 1 row of “crab stitch.”
Finish your work with a half single crochet in the 1st single crochet. Fasten the yarn.
