Crochet Vest and Hat Pattern for Ages 18-24 Months





You’ll Need:
70g of yellow Cotton Gold (55% cotton, 45% acryl; 330m/100g);
Odds of white, light-blue, and green colors;
Crochet hook size 3;
4 buttons.
Size: 18-24 months.
Stitches Control: 20 sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Vest
Front and Back
Make 112 chain sts and create 7 pattern repeats according to scheme 1, alternating the colors of yarn in the following way:
- 1st-4th rows: yellow yarn;
- 5th-6th rows: white yarn.
At a height of 20 cm, divide your work as follows: right front – 1.5 pattern repeats, arm-hole – 0.5 pattern repeat, back – 3 pattern repeats, arm-hole – 0.5 pattern repeat, left front – 1.5 pattern repeat. Then, create the front and back pieces separately.
Back
Crochet straight. At 32 cm height from the start of your work, leave the central 16 sts (1 pattern repeat) open, then finish each part separately. At a height of 33 cm, complete your work.
Right Front
Crochet straight. At a height of 26 cm from the beginning of your work, leave the central 16 sts (1 pattern repeat) open for the neck-hole and then crochet straight. At a height of 33 cm, complete your work.
Left Front
Make this piece in symmetry to the right front.
Assembly
Join the shoulder seams. Fasten the front plackets with 3 rows of single crochets. Secure the neck-hole and arm-holes with single crochets, alternating colors as follows: 1 row – yellow yarn, 1 row – white yarn, 1 row – yellow yarn. Sew on the buttons. For the applique, create a flower according to scheme 2 and a petal according to scheme 3. For the stem, make 30 chain sts and 1 row of single crochets. Sew the applique to the left front, as shown in the photo.
Hat
Begin your project with yellow yarn. For the bottom, make 6 chain sts and form them into a ring, then work according to scheme 4. For the sides, follow scheme 5, alternating the yarn colors: *2 yellow rows, 1 white row*; repeat from * to *. At a depth of 15 cm for the hat, finish your work. Secure the bottom according to scheme 6. For the applique, create a flower following scheme 2, as depicted in the photo.
