How to Knit with Mondial Dolce Mohair Yarn

You’ll Need:

350g of Mondial Dolce Mohair yarn (60% kid mohair, 40% acryl; 150m/50g) color # 359;

Knitting needles 5-6;

Tapestry needle.

Used Patterns:

• Hollow rib;
• 1 x 1 rib;
• 3 x 3 rib;

Main Pattern:

The quantity of sts is multiple 2.

• 1^st row: purl;
• 2^nd row: * 1 knit st, 1 purl*; repeat from * to * on all the sts.

Cable to the Left (on 9 sts):

• 1^st, 3^rd and 5^th rows: 6 knit sts, 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl;
• 2^nd and all the even rows: due to the pattern;
• 7^th row: cross 6 sts to the left (transfer 3 sts to the auxiliary needles in front of work, 3 knit sts, 3 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl;
• 9^th row: repeat from the 3^rd row.

Double Cable (on 18 sts):

• 1^st, 3^rd and 5^th rows: 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, 12 knit sts, 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl.
• 2^nd and all the even rows: due to the pattern;
• 7^th row: 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, cross 6 sts to the right (transfer 3 sts to the auxiliary needle behind work, 3 knit sts, 3 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), cross 6 sts to the left, 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl;
• 9^th row: repeat from the 3^rd row.

Stitches Control:

16 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Make as one-piece cloth, starting with the left sleeve.

Cast on 37 sts with knitting needles 5 and make 4 rows of hollow rib and 10 rows of 3 x 3 rib (= 5 cm), decrease 1 st. Continue work with knitting needles 6, divide the sts in the following way: 3 knit sts, 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, 31 sts of the main pattern. Increase 12 x 1 st in every 4^th row from the right side and 13 x 1 st in every 6^th row from the left side. In 16 rows from border, make the first crossing of the simple cable on 6 knit sts after 1 purl. Make the first crossing to the right for double rib in the 47^th row. In 55 rows (= 27 cm from border) cast on new 40 sts at the beginning of the row and divide the sts in the following way: 3 sts of hollow rib, 22 sts of 1 x 1 rib, 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, 12 knit sts, 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, 12 knit sts, 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl and work with the main pattern on all the rest sts. In 121 rows (= 58 cm from border) decrease 1 st at the end of row and 12 x 1 st in every 4^th row. In 94 cm from border (= 198 rows), continue work with knitting needles 5 and make 10 rows of 3 x 3 rib and 4 rows of hollow rib. Bind off all the sts with the help of tapestry needle.

Front:

Make in the same way as the back, but start with the right sleeve, making a neck-hole. In 77 rows (= 36 cm from border), decrease 1 st at the end of row and 6 x 1 st in every 2^nd row.

Assembly:

Connect front and back, sew the details along the upper part of sleeves. Make lower sleeve and side seams.

Collar:

Cast on 39 sts with knitting needles 5 and make 3 sts of hollow rib and then 36 sts of 1 x 1 rib in 44 cm height (= 98 rows). Sew the sts of the last and first rows together, form rib, sew to the neck-hole line, place 3 sts of hollow rib from the outer side.
