You’ll Need

100g of grey 100% woolen yarn (120m/50g);

Knitting needles 4-4.5;

Crochet hook 4.

Used Patterns

Main pattern: due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows due to the pattern. Repeat 1st-2nd rows x once, then, repeat the pattern from 3rd to 13th row.

Stitches Control

22 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Earband

Make 2 parts separately.

Cast on 6 sts with knitting needles 4.5 and work with the main pattern. Increase 8 x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides. Include the increased sts in the main pattern. At 9 cm height = 24 rows (= 2 pattern repeat in height), leave your work. Make the second part of the earband in the same way.

Headband

Cast on 34 sts (= back part of headband), include 22 sts of earband in work, then, cast on 34 sts (front part of headband) and include 22 sts of the second part of earband in work. Circle the work and knit around. In 10-11 cm, decrease the sts, make knit2tog x twice inside the earband.

Assembly

Fasten the headband with “shrimp stitch” in 2 threads of yarn. For the braid, cut 6 threads 50 cm long each, join to the ends of the earband and make a braid. Make a knot at the needed length.
