How to Create Crochet Hearts with 4 Ply Yarn

You’ll Need:

4 ply yarn;

Crochet hook 4.25 mm.

Instructions

Round 1:

Make a foundation row or round on the prepared item. Crochet around the edge of the prepared item, giving enough ease (loosely enough) in stitches to lay flat and not pucker the cloth.

Round 2:

Make the hearts:

• Slip to join to the foundation row and chain up 5.
• Double crochet into the base chain (the first chain at the base of chain 5).
• Slip stitch into the base chain.
• Double crochet into the base chain and chain 4.
• Slip to the base chain.
• Slip to the same foundation stitch below the heart.
  Heart complete.

Slip stitch 6 along the foundation and repeat from the beginning of Round 2 around or to the end of the row.

Finish off and weave in tails.
