Easy Knit Hat Pattern Guide

You’ll Need:
1 skein of any type of yarn (100m/100g);
Knitting needles sizes 5, 6, and 8;
Stitch markers.
Size
Head circumference: 54-56 cm (with knitting needles size 6).
Instructions
Cast on 56 sts + 1 st for the circle in the ring with knitting needles size 6. Place marker and work with 1 x 1 rib for 7-8 rows.
Make increases in every 2 sts x 28 times, totaling 84 sts.
Turn to knitting needles size 8 and make 14-15 rows with stockinette stitch.
Start Making Decreases:
1st row: 10 knit sts, knit 2 together with left decline – to the end of the row;
2nd row: knit;
3rd row: 9 knit sts, knit 2 together with left decline – to the end of the row;
4th row: knit;
5th row: 8 knit sts, knit 2 together with left decline – to the end of the row;
6th row: knit;
7th row: 7 knit sts, knit 2 together with left decline – to the end of the row;
8th row: knit;
9th row: 6 knit sts, knit 2 together with left decline – to the end of the row;
10th row: knit;
11th row: 5 knit sts, knit 2 together with left decline – to the end of the row;
12th row: knit;
13th row: make decreases in every row according to the previously described scheme, until there are 4 sts left.
Turn to knitting needles size 5 and make a “tail”: 6 rows of stockinette stitch, decrease until 2 sts remain, and bind off the sts. Weave in the ends.
