Knitting a Stylish Sweater with Crystals

You’ll Need:

300 (350)g of pink yarn (54% wool, 46% cotton; 100m/50g);

Knitting needles 2.5; 3; 3.5 and 4;

Circle knitting needles 2.5; 3; 3.5 and 4;

98-150 crystals.

Size:

110 – 130 cm.

Stitches Control:

With knitting needles 4: 18 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Used Patterns

Rib with Drawn Stitch:

1^st row (RS): 1 selvage st, * 1 purl, 1 knit st in the st of the previous row*; repeat from * to *, 1 purl, 1 selvage st;

2^nd row: knit.

Repeat 1^st-2^nd rows.

All-Around Pattern:

Without selvage st, make the 2^nd row with purls;

Relief Pattern:

Due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows as purls. Repeat 1^st-24^th rows.

Back

Cast on 73-85 sts with knitting needles 2.5. Make the 1^st row (WS): 1 selvage st, * 1 knit st, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *, 1 knit st, 1 selvage st;

2^nd and 3^rd rows: RS – knit sts, WS – purls.

Start making rows with drawn st. At 8 cm long, change knitting needles 3.5 to 4 and work with relief pattern from the right edge due to the scheme. Repeat the pattern of 12 sts x 5-6 times and knit to the left edge. Work in the same order. At 33-41 cm long, change to thinner knitting needles and make 4 cm with rib with drawn st. Bind off all the sts.

Front

Make in the same way as back.

Sleeves

Cast on 37 sts on thinner knitting needles and make 3 rows in the same way as the lower part of back. Then, work with rib with drawn st. At 5 cm length of the sleeve, change to thicker knitting needles and work with relief pattern from the right edge of the scheme, repeating the pattern of 12 sts twice to the left edge. Work in the same order, increasing 1 st in every 4^th row from both sides, until there are 65-79 sts on the knitting needles. At 26-34 cm height, bind off all the sts.

Assembly

Sew crystal to the back and front in the center of each relief flower. Then, sew crystals in the central 2-3 flowers of sleeves. Sew the rest of the crystals up to your liking. Sew shoulder seams of 10-11.5 cm long. Make side and sleeve seams. Leave 8 cm open on the side seams for cuts.
