Colors order for front and back: 14 rows of carroty color yarn, * 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of crimson yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of purple yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of blue yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of carroty yarn*; repeat from * to * x once, finish with 4 rows of white yarn and 16 rows of crimson yarn. Totally, 194 rows.

For Sleeves

Colors order for sleeves: 4 rows of carroty yarn, * 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of crimson yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of purple yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of blue yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of carroty yarn*; repeat from * to * x 3 times, finish with 4 rows of white yarn and 6 rows of crimson yarn. Totally, 174 rows.

Decreases

Along the Right Side

1 selvedge stitch, 2 knit stitches, knit two together;

Along the Left Side

knit two together with left decline, 2 knit stitches, 1 selvedge stitch.

Increases

Along the Right Side

1 selvedge stitch, 2 knit stitches, 1 cross knit stitch from transversal thread;

Along the Left Side

1 cross knit stitch from transversal thread before the last 3 stitches, 2 knit stitches, 1 selvedge stitch.

Instructions

Back

Start work with carroty yarn. Cast on 103; 113; 123 stitches and make 3 rows of garter stitch, with the 1^st row as WS. Continue work with stockinette stitch, alternating small and big stripes, as described above.

After making 20 rows (6 cm) with stockinette stitch, decrease 1 x 1 stitch, as previously described from both sides, then, 6 x 1 stitch in every 10^th row. You should get 89; 99; 109 stitches. At 88 rows (27 cm) height, increase 1 x 1 stitch as previously described from both sides, then 2 x 1 stitch in every 8^th row, 4 x 1 stitch in every 6^th row; 6 x 1 stitch in every 4^th and 6^th rows by turn. Totally, 103; 113; 123 stitches.

In 41 cm (134 rows); 39.5 cm (128 rows); 37.5 cm (122 rows) from garter stitch, bind off 1 x 4 stitches for arm-holes from both sides, then, 2 x 2 stitches in every 2^nd row, and 1 x 1 stitch. You should get 85; 95; 105 stitches. After making 58 cm (188 rows) from garter stitch, bind off the central 41 stitches for the neck-hole and finish each part separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 5 stitches in every 2^nd row, and at 59.5 cm (194 rows) height, bind off 12; 17; 22 stitches for shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way as back, but with a deeper neck-hole. At 55.5 cm (180 rows) height from garter stitch, bind off the central 33 stitches, then, 1 x 6 stitches in every 2^nd row, 1 x 3 stitches, 1 x 2 stitches, and 3 x 1 stitch.

Sleeves

Cast on 44; 48; 52 stitches with carroty yarn and work with garter stitch, as on the previously made details. Continue work with stockinette stitch due to the colors order for sleeves. At the same time, increase 7 x 1 stitch in every 10^th row; 7 x 1 stitch in every 8^th row; 16 x 1 stitch in every 8^th row; 10 x 1 stitch in every 8^th row, and 8 x 1 stitch in every 6^th row. Totally, 72; 80; 88 stitches.

At 41 cm (134 rows) from garter stitch, bind off 1 x 3 stitches for sleeve cap, then 1 x 2 stitches in every 2^nd row and decrease 17 x 1 stitch, bind off 1 x 2 stitches.

At 53.5 cm (174 rows) from garter stitch, bind off the rest 24; 32; 40 stitches.

Assembly

Sew the shoulders. Lift 136 stitches with circular knitting needles and crimson yarn along the neck-hole line and make 4 circular rows of knit stitches. Bind off the stitches due to the ornament. Sew the sleeves. Sew up side and sleeve seams.
