How to Create a Stylish Crochet Belt with Vita Baby Yarn

You'll Need:

Vita baby yarn (100% acrylic, 400m/100g);

Crochet hook 2.5 mm.

Length of Belt:

73-75 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 7 stitches + 2 selvedge stitches.

Selvedge stitch: slip the first stitch without knitting, and make the last stitch purl.

Row Instructions

1st, 3rd and 5th rows: knit;

2nd, 4th and 6th rows: purl;

7th row: 1 selvedge stitch, 3 knit stitches, knit 2 together, 2 knit stitches, 1 selvedge stitch;

8th row: 1 selvedge stitch, 3 purls. Don't knit the remaining stitches. Turn your work;

9th row: 1 selvedge stitch, 2 knit stitches, 1 selvedge stitch;

10th row: 1 selvedge stitch, 3 purls, add 1 stitch to the right needle (or make a yarn over), 3 purls, 1 selvedge stitch. Turn your work;

Make the right side of the work, which wasn't previously knitted.

11th row: 1 selvedge stitch, 4 knit stitches. Turn your work;

12th row: 1 selvedge stitch, 3 purls, 1 selvedge stitch.

Repeat from the 1st to 12th row until you achieve the desired length.

Start making holes in the second stripe from the second hole. Knit in the same way as the first stripe.

Binding the Belt

Put 2 stripes together, one upon another. The upper stripe should be the one with a smaller number of holes. Draw the end of the lower stripe through the first hole of the upper stripe. This will be the beginning of your belt, creating one binding. Consequently, the upper stripe is always inserted into the next hole of the lower stripe. Make each hole this way.

Sew the lower and upper stripes together at the ends of your belt. Sew a button on one side and create a buttonhole on the opposite side (make this with chain stitches).
