How to Make a Stylish Crochet Belt

You’ll Need:

1 ball of grey (00393) Schachenmayr Catania yarn (100% cotton; 125m/50g);

1 ball of spirit color (00083) Schachenmayr Corsica yarn (50% cotton, 50% nylon; 120m/50g);

Crochet hook 6;

Ring 3-3.5 cm diameter.

Size:

S (M) L.

Length (without ring): 50 (55) 60.

Height: 30 (29) 28 cm.

Used Patterns

Single crochets with base stitch: 2 chain stitches, insert crochet hook in the 1^st chain stitch, draw 1 stitch and at first, crochet this stitch, then crochet both stitches = 1^st single crochet with base stitch. *insert crochet hook in both lower chains of the last stitch, draw 1 stitch and at first, crochet this stitch, then crochet both stitches = 2^nd single crochet with base stitch*; repeat from * to *.

Stitches Control:

1 pattern repeat = 9.5 cm x 6 cm.

Note:

This belt consists of 2 details. At first, make the upper part from the 1^st row, then fold your work down (don’t turn) and crochet the lower half in symmetry.

Work in 2 threads of each color yarn.

Instructions

Upper Part

1^st row (grey): 66 (77) 88 single crochets with base stitch;

2^nd row (grey): 1 chain stitch increase, *2 single crochets, 2 chain stitches, skip 3 stitches, (1 double crochet, 5 chain stitches, 1 double crochet) in the next stitch, 2 chain stitches, skip 3 stitches, 2 single crochets*; repeat from * to * x 6 (7) 8 times;

3^rd row (spirit color): 1 chain stitch increase, 2 single crochets, 1 chain stitch, *3 treble crochets behind the next arch of chain stitches (of 2 chain stitches), 6 treble crochets behind the next arch of 5 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets behind the next arch of 2 chain stitches*; repeat from * to * x 5 (6) 7 times, 1 chain stitch, 2 single crochets;

4^th row (spirit color): 1 chain stitch increase, single crochets in all the following stitches, also behind both chain stitches before and after single crochets in the beginning and end of row = 78 (90) 102 stitches;

5^th row (grey): 1 chain stitch increase, 1 single crochet in all the following stitches.

Lower Half

Fold your work down so that the right side is the upper side (don’t turn), join the new spirit color yarn to the 1^st stitch of the 1^st row. Make 2^nd-5^th rows one more time. Don’t cut the yarn (finish the detail with grey yarn).

First Strap

Fasten the side edge (to 9 rows height) with 5 single crochets with grey yarn, turn. For the 1^st strap, make 2 chain stitches increase and make 1 double crochet in the 3^rd and 5^th single crochets, turn.

Ring with the 2^nd Strap

Join the new grey yarn to the 2^nd side edge and also fasten it with 5 single crochets. Leave a long end of yarn for sewing. Fasten the ring with single crochets with grey yarn. Cut and fasten the yarn. Sew the ring to 5 single crochets. For the 2^nd strap, join the new yarn to the ring opposite 5 single crochets and also make 100 chain stitches. Cut the yarn.

Assembly

Make 2 tassels: cut 2 x 24 spirit color threads of yarn 20 cm long. Put 24 threads in a bundle, fold in half, and mark the center with the help of yarn.
