Holding back the last loop on hook for each double crochet (dc), work 5 dc in chain 2 space, yarn over (yo), and draw through 6 loops on hook.
Bullion Stitch (Bullion St.)
Yo 10 times loosely and evenly, insert hook into next stitch, yo, draw up a loop, even with the 10 loops, yo, draw through all 12 loops, wiggling the hook and rolling the yarn back and forth - Bullion made.
Instructions
Beginning
With E hook and color C, chain (ch) 4, join with a slip stitch (sl st).
Round 1
Ch 6, make a triple crochet (trc) in the ring, (ch 2, trc in ring) 6 times more, ch 2, join with sl st in 4th ch of ch 6. Finish Off (FO). There are 8 ch 2 spaces.
Round 2
Join in color A in ch 2 space, ch 3, holding back the last loop of each stitch, make 4 dc in the same ch 2 space, yo, draw through all 5 loops, ch 6, (work 5dc cl, ch 6) 7 times. Join with sl st, FO color A. There are 8 ch 6 spaces.
Round 3
With color B and size F, join in the top of 5dc cl. Ch 1, sc in the same stitch, (6 sc in next ch 6 space, sc in next 5dc cl) 8 times, ending with sl st in first sc.
Round 4
Ch 3, dc in the same stitch. Dc in the next 6 sc, [2dc in next sc (on top of 5dc cl), dc in next 6 scs] 7 times. Join with sl st, FO color B.
Round 5
With color C and size F, join in the ridge in the back of the first dc of 2dc (on top of 5dc cl) from Round 4. Ch 1, sc in the same stitch. (Ch 2, skip 1, sc in back ridge) around, end with ch 2, sl st in joining sc. There are 32 ch 2 spaces.
Round 6
Sl st in the next ch 2 space, ch 3, (work 10 yo bullion, ch 1) twice in the next space, 2 dc in the next space, 2 hdc in the next space. (2sc in next ch 2 space), twice, 2 hdc in the next space, 2 dc in the next space, (work 10 yo bullion, ch 1) twice in the next space, ch 2, (work 10 yo bullion, ch 1) twice in the next ch 2 space. Continue around, working (10 yo bullion, ch 1) twice, ch 2, in the last ch 2 space, join with sl st in top of the first bullion. FO.
Round 7
Join color B with size G in the space before the first two bullions of the corner. Work 2 sc in the space before each of the first two bullions of the corner, 3 sc in the corner ch 2 space, 2 sc in the space after each of the last two bullions of the corner. Sc across to make 20 sc each side, with 3 sc in corners. Continue around, join with sl st and FO.
Finish off and weave in all ends.
