The quantity of stitches is multiplied by 14 chains + 5. Read the scheme the following way: odd rows are worked right to left, while even rows are worked left to right.
Row Instructions
1st Row
3 chains increase, crochet the whole row with double crochet (dc).
2nd Row
3 chains increase, then crochet 4 dc, followed by "shell stitch", then 5 dc, followed by another "shell", and finally 5 dc.
3rd Row
3 chains increase, crochet 4 dc, followed by "shell stitch", then 5 dc, followed by another "shell", and finally 5 dc.
4th Row
3 chains increase, crochet 4 dc, followed by "shell stitch", then 5 dc, followed by another "shell", and finally 5 dc.
5th Row
3 chains increase, crochet 4 dc, then create *7 chains, fasten the chain in the base of the 3rd row shell, turn, and crochet 8 single crochet (sc) on the chain. Fasten the stitch at the edging dc and make a "shell stitch". Make a chain of 7 stitches again and turn to the base of 3rd row shell. Turn your work and fasten the chain, then turn your work and crochet 8 sc on the chain. Then, finish with 5 dc*. Repeat from * to *.
6th Row
3 chains increase, crochet 4 dc, followed by "shell stitch", then 5 dc, followed by another "shell", and finally 5 dc.
7th Row
