Crochet Boo the Owl Amigurumi Tutorial

Items Required

• 4mm (6) hook. If you don’t have a 4mm hook use a 4.25mm (G) hook instead.
• Yarn
• Stitch marker
• Stuffing
• Wool needle

Guidelines

• At the end of each round just carry on, do not join with a slip stitch.
• Mark the start of each round and then move marker as a round is completed.
• HK – hook
• CH – chain
• SS – Slip Stitch
• SC – Single crochet
• SC Inc – Single Crochet Increase. Increase by placing 2 sc in 1 stitch.
• SC Dec – Single Crochet Decrease. Hook through 1st stitch, yarn over hook, pull hook through, hook through next stitch, yarn over hook, pull through. Yarn over hook and through all the loops.
• HDC - Half Double Crochet

• Round 2) Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, 5 hdc inc, ss to join to top of ch 2, finish (12)

Sew the eye to the Owl head

Pupils x 2

Using 4mm (6) hook & Manos Del Uruguay Alegria Butia Yarn

Ch 2

Round

• Round 1) 6 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, ss to join, finish (6)

Sew the pupils to the middle of the eyes.

Beak

Using 4mm (6) hook & Manos Del Uruguay Alegria Butia Yarn

Ch 6

Round

• Round 1) 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc, (3 sc in last ch), carry on crocheting down the other side of the starting ch, 3 sc, ss to join to 1st sc, finish (9)

Sew the beak between the eyes on the head of the owl.

Ears x 2

Using 4mm (6) hook & Manos Del Uruguay Alegria Butia Yarn

Cut 4 pieces of 4” of yarn.

Fold the pieces of yarn in half and pull the loop through the top of the head. One set on the left side, one set on the right side. Then pull the end through the loop to create a knot to keep them in place. Your ear is now made. You can trim the ends so they are a matching length.

Your Owl is now finished!
