Crochet Floral Case Instructions

You’ll Need:
1 skein of green 100% cotton yarn (165m/50g);
1 skein of the same yarn, but in white color;
Crochet hook 2.5;
4 buttons in the shape of flowers, 15 mm diameter;
10 x 40 cm piece of cotton fabric for backing.
Size:
9 x 16 cm.
Instructions
Starting the Crochet
Make 20 chain stitches with green yarn.
1st row: 2 single crochets in the 2nd chain stitch from the crochet hook, *skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets in the same stitch (= 1 shell), skip 2 stitches, 1 single crochet*; repeat from * to *;
Building the Rows
2nd row: Turn, 3 chain stitches increase, 2 double crochets in the 1st single crochet, *1 single crochet in the center of 5 double crochets (shell), 5 double crochets in the next single crochet*; repeat from * to *, 1 single crochet in the center of the last shell, 3 double crochets in the last stitch;
3rd row: Turn, 2 chain stitches increase, 1 single crochet in the 1st double crochet, 5 double crochets in the next single crochet, *1 single crochet in the center of the next shell, 5 double crochets in the next single crochet*; repeat from * to *, 1 single crochet in the 3rd chain stitch of the previous row.
Repeat 2nd to 3rd rows (= totally, 20 times).
Change to white yarn in 8 rows.
Assembly
Connect sides (along side and lower edges) with single crochets. Make 14 chain stitches for the loop and fasten them with a “crab stitch”. Embroider 3 stems on the white part of the case with green yarn and sew on buttons. Sew a button for the fastener.
Cut 2 rectangles from the fabric, measuring 9 x 16 cm with 1 cm left for seam allowance. Place the details right sides up and sew along the side and lower edges. Insert the backing into the case, fold the upper cut, and sew to the upper edge.
