Crocheting a Miniature Teddy Bear

Crocheting a miniature teddy bear can be such a delightful and rewarding experience! The intricate detail and craftsmanship that go into creating each tiny stitch truly make it a labor of love. Materials:
- small ball of sport weight yarn
- size "G" hook
- small amount of black yarn
- yarn or tapestry needle
- fiber fill
Notes:
Do not join rounds unless indicated.
Dec: Draw up a loop in each of the next 2 stitches, yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook: counts as 1 single crochet throughout.
Db dec: Draw up a loop in each of the next 2 stitches, yarn over, draw through all 4 loops on hook: counts as 1 single crochet throughout.
Pattern:
Legs and Arms (Make 4 Altogether):
Chain 2.
Rnd 1: 5 single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.
Rnd 2: 2 single crochet in each single crochet around; 10 single crochet.
Rnd 3-6: Single crochet in each stitch around.
Rnd 7: (Decrease 1, 3 single crochet) 2 times; 8 stitches.
Rnd 8: Single crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch in next single crochet.
Finish off, do not weave in ends.
Stuff lightly with fiber fill.
Body:
Rnd 1: Working through both legs - join with single crochet in any stitch, working through both thicknesses again - 1 single crochet in next stitch, working on 1 leg - single crochet in next 6 single crochet, working on next leg - single crochet in next 6 single crochet; 12 stitches make round (not counting 1st 2).
Rnd 2: 2 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, (1 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch) 3 times, 2 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch; 17 single crochet.
Rnd 3: Chain 3, single crochet in 3rd chain from hook (tail made), 1 single crochet in each stitch around on body.
Rnd 4: 2 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, (3 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch) 3 times, 2 single crochet; 21 single crochet.
Rnd 5-6: Single crochet in each single crochet around.

Rnd 9: 2 single crochet, working through any stitches on arm and next stitches on body - 3 single crochet, 3 single crochet (working on body only), working with last arm and body - 3 single crochet, 2 single crochet (working on body only).
Rnd 10: 2 single crochet, *1 single crochet in 1 unused stitch on arm, skip 1 single crochet on body, single crochet in next single crochet on body, skip 1 single crochet on body, single crochet in last unused stitch on arm,* 3 single crochet on body (in stitches of previous round that were between the arms), repeat between *'s, 2 single crochet on body only.
Rnd 11: 2 single crochet, decrease on arm, decrease using last stitch on arm and next stitch on body, 1 stitch, decrease using next stitch on body and 1st unused stitch on arm, decrease on arm, single crochet in last 2 stitches on previous round; 9 stitches.
Lightly stuff body, do not finish off - body continues directly into head pattern.
Head:
Rnd 1: 2 single crochet on each stitch around; 18 stitches.
Rnd 2: 6 single crochet, decrease 1, 2 single crochet in next stitch, decrease 1, 7 single crochet; 17 stitches.
Rnd 3: 6 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 1 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 8 single crochet; 19 stitches.
Rnd 4: Decrease 1, 4 single crochet, decrease 1, 1 single crochet, decrease 1, 4 single crochet, decrease 1, 2 single crochet; 15 stitches.
Rnd 5: Decrease 1, 3 single crochet, 1 double decrease, 3 single crochet, decrease 1, 2 single crochet; 11 stitches.
Rnd 6: 1 single crochet, chain 3, single crochet in the third chain from hook, decrease 1 on head, 3 single crochet, decrease 1, chain 3, single crochet in the 3rd chain from hook, 3 single crochet; 9 stitches, ears made.
Rnd 7: Single crochet in each stitch around (skipping ear picots), slip stitch in next single crochet.
Finish off, leaving long tail.
Stuff head lightly.
Use yarn tail to sew head closed.
Using black yarn and needle, embroider face - French knots for eyes and nose, straight stitches for mouth.
