How to Knit a Cozy Pouf with Bernat® Wool-Up Bulky™ Yarn




You’ll Need:
9 balls of Bernat® Wool-Up Bulky™ (6 oz/170 g; 121 yds/110 m) in Purple color (50315);
Circular knitting needle 6.5 mm (91.5 cm long);
Tapestry needle.
Size:
61 cm in diameter x 51 cm height.
Stitches Control:
11 sts x 14 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Note:
Pouf is worked side to side with short-turn rows at each end.
Instructions:
Cast on 88 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:
Foundation Row:
(WS). Knit. Proceed in pat as follows:
Pattern Rows:
1st row: (RS). K77. W&T. Leave rem sts unworked.
2nd row: P65. W&T. Leave rem sts unworked.
3rd row: Knit to end of row, working st and loop tog on wrapped st.
4th row: Knit to end of row, working st and loop tog on wrapped st.
Rep last 4 rows for pat until wide (center) section of Pouf measures approx 173 cm long, ending on a 3rd row.
Finishing:
Cast off all sts purlwise (WS), working st and loop tog on wrapped st.
Sew side seam, leaving opening to insert Pouf/Bean Bag. Insert Pouf/Bean Bag and complete seam. Thread length of yarn onto tapestry needle and secure at seam. Gather ends of short-turn rows tightly tog to close top of Pouf and fasten securely. Rep at opposite end to close bottom of Pouf.
