Gauge: 5 stitches and 5 rows = 2 inches.

TPS: (Forward Pass) Place yarn in front of your work, insert your hook into the left vertical bar of the stitch below, and pull your yarn through. (Return Pass): follow instructions in the pattern.

TKS: (Forward Pass) Working with the yarn behind your work, insert your hook between the vertical bars below the horizontal bars in the stitch below, yarn over, pull the yarn through, and keep your loop on the hook. (Return Pass): follow instructions in the pattern.

Row 1: Ch 18, insert hook into the 2nd ch from the hook, yarn over, and pull through, (insert hook in the next ch, yarn over and pull through), repeat until you have 18 loops on the hook. Rows 3 - 8: Repeat Row 2.

Whip stitch both sides together.

Edging

Round 1: With a regular crochet hook, attach yarn to the side of the cowl, ch 1, sc in the starting stitch, sc in each row, sl st into the beginning stitch.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in starting stitch, sc in each stitch around, sl st in the beginning stitch.

Finish off.

Weave in all your ends.
