Crochet Ice Cream Cone Dish Cloths

- About 3/4 oz each of cone colour and ice cream colour
- Crochet hook, size 4.5mm (G hook)

Notes
- Always start rows of double crochet (dc) with chain 3 (counts as first dc).
- Always start rows of single crochet (sc) with chain 1, sc in same stitch. Chain 1 does NOT count as the first stitch.
Instructions
Creating the Cone
With cone colour, chain 25, double crochet in the 4th chain from hook and across. Turn. (23)
Rows 2-5: Double crochet across, turn. At the end of row 5, chain 5, turn.
Row 6: Double crochet in the 4th chain from hook and across to last double crochet. Double crochet in last stitch. Yarn over, insert hook in the same stitch as last dc, *(yarn over, draw up a loop) twice, (yarn over, draw through 2 loops) twice. Repeat from * for a total of 29 double crochet, increased 3 at each end.
Row 7-11: Double crochet across. Turn. Fasten off at end of row 11.
Creating the Ice Cream
With ice cream colour:
Chain 4, slip stitch to form a ring.
Row 1: 7 double crochet in ring, turn. Do not spread stitches to cover the ring, we are making a semi-circle from here.
Row 2: 2 double crochet in each stitch across, turn. (14)
Row 3: (2 double crochet in 1 stitch, double crochet in next) across. Turn. (21)
Row 4: (2 double crochet in 1 stitch, double crochet in 2) across. (28)
Row 5: Single crochet in 3 stitches, 2 single crochet in next, single crochet in 2. Half double crochet in 1 stitch, 2 half double crochet in next. (Double crochet in 3 stitches, 2 double crochet in next) 3 times. Half double crochet in 2 stitches, single crochet in 1, 2 single crochet in next, single crochet in 4 stitches. (34)
Row 6: Single crochet in 6 stitches, 2 half double crochet in next, half double crochet in 4. Double crochet in 1, 2 single crochet in next. DO NOT TURN. Chain 1, single crochet 29 stitches evenly across the bottom. Chain 1.
Hold both pieces wrong sides together, with wide side of the cone matched with the flat side of the ice cream. Turn so cone side is toward you. Work 1 row of single crochet through both layers thus: through back loops of the cone, and front loops of the ice cream. (29 single crochet) Turn.
Finishing Touches
For frill: Chain 2, 2 half double crochet in the same stitch. 3 half double crochet in each stitch across. Fasten off.
If desired, work 1 round of single crochet evenly around the cone part of the cloth for a more finished look.
