Gauge/Tension
GAUGE: 12 sts and 14 rows = 4” (10 cm) in single crochet. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Finished Size
- Each Star = 12” in diameter.
- Runner = 12” (30.5 cm) wide x 60” (152.5 cm) long.
Special Stitches
- Single Crochet 2 Together (sc2tog): [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop] twice, yarn over and draw through all three loops.
- Standing sc: Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in designated st, yo, draw yarn through st, yo, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook.

Center
- Ch 2.
- Round 1 (Right Side): Work 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join – 10 sc. Place marker in first st of round and move marker up as work progresses.
- Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around – 20 sc.
- Round 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; repeat from * around – 30 sc.
- Round 4: *Sc in next two stitches, two sc in the next; repeat from * 10 times – 40 sc.
- Round 5: Sc in each sc around.
- Round 6: *Sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; repeat from * around – 50 sc.
- Round 7: Sc in each sc around.
- Round 8: *Sc in each of next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st; repeat from * around – 60 sc.
- Round 9: Sc in each sc around.
- Round 10: *Sc in each of next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st; repeat from * around – 70 sc.
- Round 11: Sc in each sc around.
Point #1
- Row 1: Sc in each of next 12 sts, turn, leaving remaining sts unworked – 12 sc.
- Row 2: Ch 1, sc2tog over first 2 sts, sc in each st across to last 2 sts, sc2tog over last 2 sts, turn – 10 sts.
- Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
- Row 4–9: Repeat Rows 2-3 (3 times) – 4 sc at end of last row.
- Row 10: Ch 1, [sc2tog over next 2 sts] twice, turn – 2 sts.
- Row 11: Ch 1, sc2tog over next 2 sts – 1 st. Fasten off.
Points #2-5
- Row 1: With right side facing, skip next 2 sts after last point, join same color with standing sc in next sc, sc in each of next 11 sc, turn, leaving remaining sts unworked – 12 sc.
- Row 2-11: Work same as Rows 2-11 of Point #1.
Edging
- Round 1: With right side facing, join C with standing sc at side of any point, *sc evenly across to top of point, 3 sc in point, sc evenly across other side of point, sc in next 2 sc in Round 11 of Center; repeat from * around, join with slip st in first sc. Fasten off C.
Finishing
Weave in ends. Using the photograph as a guide, sew stars together at the points with C.
