Lace Crochet Pattern Instructions
Setup Chain and Initial Ring
Starting Chain: Chain 7 and connect them into a ring using a slip stitch.
Starting Chain Extension: Chain 6 (note: the first 3 chains count as the first double crochet).
Round 1
Pattern Repeat: Make a double crochet into the ring, chain 3, and double crochet into the ring again. Repeat this step until you have 8 double crochets and 8 chain-3 spaces in total.
Closure: Chain 3 and join with a slip stitch into the third chain from the bottom of the starting 6 chains.
Round 2
Starting Chain for Round 2: Chain 4 (this counts as the first treble).
Pattern Sequence: Work 3 trebles into the next chain-3 space, chain 3, and work 4 trebles into the next chain-3 space.
Continuation and Corners Formation
Chain 8, work 4 trebles into the next chain-3 space. Repeat steps above until you have completed 2 corners. Chain 3, work 4 trebles into the next chain-3 space. Continue pattern until you have created 3 corners.
Adding a New Motif
Chain Formation for New Motif: Chain 22.
Ring Formation on New Motif: Make a slip stitch into the seventh chain from the hook to form a secondary ring.
Procedure for New Ring
Make a slip stitch into each of the next 3 chains, turn your work, chain 3, and then make double crochet into the ring.
Completion: Repeat the double crochet process until you have 8 double crochets and 8 chain-3 spaces in total, then chain 3 and join with a slip stitch. Make a slip stitch into each of the next 4 chains.
Treble Work
Turn your work and make 3 trebles into the next chain-3 space.
Connecting Motifs
For connection, make 2 chains, drop the loop off the hook, pass the hook through the middle chain of the previously connected motif, grab the loop back onto the hook, and pull it through. Continue crocheting into the next chain-3 space of the second motif. Repeat until 2 motifs are connected. Continue this side until getting 3 corners in total.
Finishing
Closure for Row and Rounds: Repeat the sets as necessary until the desired number of motifs per row is achieved. For each new row, start with chaining 18 or 22.
Connecting Row Motifs: Using similar connecting steps as explained in Adding a New Motif steps, connect new motifs on top of the previous ones.
Final Adjustments: Continue crocheting rows following the same pattern until desired length is reached, ensuring all motifs are completed and sides are finished.
General Tips
- Ensure not to twist chains while joining motifs.
- Maintain loose crocheting to enhance flexibility and facilitate blocking to lay the piece flat and evenly.
