Extra Info

The ch1 (or ch2) from ch1 and turn does not count as a stitch.

Always crochet in both loops unless stated otherwise.

Pattern

If you use “ch2” at the beginning of a row, this ch2 does not count as a stitch.

Star Shape Rows

  • R1: with yellow: 6sc in a MR
  • R2: ch2, 2hdc in each stitch (12)
  • R3: with white: [2sc, inc] repeat (16)
  • R4: ch2, then [2hdc in stitch 1, ch2, skip next stitch] repeat (32)
  • R5: with yellow: [2sc, 3hdc in the stitch under your chain space] repeat (40)

Cut the yarn.

Make a 2nd piece the same way, but this time do not cut the yarn. Instead, place the 2 pieces on top of each other (right sides out) and crochet them together the following way:

Joining Rows

  • R6: 8sc in the back piece, 8sc in the front piece (16)
  • R7 is to be made in these 16 stitches only.
  • Crochet in continuous rows.

Decreasing Rows

  • R7: [6sc, dec] repeat (14)
  • R8: [5sc, dec] repeat (12)
  • R9: [4sc, dec] repeat (10)
  • R10: [3sc, dec] repeat (8)
  • R11: [2sc, dec] repeat (6)
  • R12: [1sc, dec] repeat (4)

Cut the yarn.

Repeat R6-12 in the next 8 stitches of the front piece and 8 stitches of the back piece.

Continue this until you have a total of 5 points on the star.
