Wrong-Side Pattern Instructions
In RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts;
Pattern 1 (18 sts Wide)
Follow scheme 1, which states both RS and WS rows. Repeat 1st-14th rows.
Pattern 2 (31 sts Wide)
Follow scheme 2, which states only RS rows and make WS rows according to the ornament. Yarn overs should be treated as purls. Repeat 1st-20th rows.
Stitches Control
Wrong-side pattern, knitting needles 5: 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Combination of patterns, knitting needles 6: 17 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Back/Front
Cast on 102 sts and make: 5 purl sts of wrong-side pattern, *18 sts of pattern 1, 6 sts of wrong-side pattern* x 3 times, 18 sts of pattern 1, 5 sts of wrong-side pattern between selvage sts. For A-shape, decrease as follows: make purl2tog x 5 times in every 26th row before the 1st and after the last strip of pattern = 10 decreases. At the same time, make purl2tog x 3 times in every 20th row x 6 times between the strips of pattern = 18 decreases. In 60 cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest sts loosely.
Sleeves
Cast on 68 sts and make: 2 sts of wrong-side pattern, *18 sts of pattern 1, 4 sts of wrong-side pattern*; repeat from * to * x twice, 18 sts of pattern 1, 2 sts of wrong-side pattern. For sleeve chamfers, make purl2tog in every 20th row from both sides x 3 times and purl2tog in every 11th row x 5 times between sts of pattern 1. In 28 cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest sts loosely.
Yoke
Cast on 33 sts and work with pattern 2 between selvage sts. Work in shorten rows for the needed shape of yoke. For this, leave the last 6 sts and the last 10 sts (by turn) x once in every 6th row. Upper edge will be 100 cm long, lower edge – 150 cm long. Bind off the sts loosely and connect the short sides with a seam.
Assembly
Sew the details of back, sleeves, and front to the lower edge of the yoke, ensuring the seam is in the middle of the back. Cast on 160 sts with circle knitting needles along the upper edge of the yoke and work with the wrong-side pattern. Place a marker on every 16th st, then make the marked st in every 3rd circle row as purl2tog with the next st x 6 times = 10 decreases in a circle row. At a width of yoke of 10 cm, bind off the sts. Fasten all the edges with 1 circle row of single crochets and 1 circle row of “shrimp stitch.”
