How to Knit a Colorful Plaid Blanket with Cotton-Cashmere Yarn


You'll Need:
150g of yarn (90% cotton, 10% cashmere; 180m/50g) of orange-yellow color (#1);
50g of the same yarn, but ruddy color (#2);
50g of the same yarn, but red-orange color (#3);
50g of the same yarn, but copper color (#4);
50g of the same yarn, but hazel color (#5);
Knitting needles size 4;
Crochet hook size 3.
Size:
50 x 60 cm.
Used Patterns
The main pattern is made on the quantity of stitches multiplied by 2 + 1 + 1 selvedge stitch from both sides;
Fastening with crochet hook: is made due to the scheme with stitches multiplied by 4 + 3 + 1 selvedge stitch in each corner.
Note: Don't knit the 1st stitch of the row.
Row Instructions
1st row (right-side): 1 selvedge stitch, *1 knit stitch, yarn in front of work, slip 1 stitch as purl, yarn behind work*; repeat from * to * to last 2 stitches, 1 knit stitch, 1 selvedge stitch;
2nd row: 1 selvedge stitch, yarn behind work, slip 1 stitch as purl, yarn in front of work, 1 purl, yarn behind work, slip 1 stitch as purl; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch.
Repeat these 2 rows, changing colors: 2 rows with yarn #1, 2 rows with yarn #2, 2 rows with yarn #1, 2 rows with yarn #2, 2 rows with yarn #1, 2 rows with yarn #4, 2 rows with yarn #1, 2 rows with yarn #5.
Stitches Control with Knitting Needles Size 4:
29 stitches x 46 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Cast on 145 stitches with yarn #1. Knit the work with stripes, making 16 rows of stripes 17 times (272 rows). Bind off the stitches at 59 cm.
Fastening
Fasten your plaid along the perimeter with yarn #1 with 1 row of half single crochets (slip stitch) and then, make 3 rows according to the scheme.
