How to Create a Colorful Crochet Ornament with Zipper Placket

You'll Need:

100% acryl yarn - 50g of light-green, orange and crimson colors;

Crochet hook 3;

Fabric for backing 40 х 40 cm;

Invisible zipper;

Needle;

Threads;

Scissors.

Instructions

Make 5 chain sts and circle them in a ring.

Increases: 2 single crochets in every single crochet. Increase 8 single crochets in the new rows, in order to get 1 extra crochet for every part of the ornament.

Attach new color yarn beginning from the last single crochet of the previous row, i.e., make the last single crochet with new color yarn. When you connect threads of yarn in such a way, your ornament will be smooth.

Make 2 rows with crimson yarn without changing the color of yarn. After that, start making the stripes of extra ornament:

• 1st row (light-green yarn): single crochets;
• 2nd row: 1 single crochet with light-green yarn, 3 single crochets with crimson yarn, 1 single crochet with light-green yarn, 3 single crochets with orange yarn and repeat these actions to end of circle;
• 3rd row (light-green yarn): single crochets.

Crochet the last 2 rows with crimson yarn, don't forget about 8 extra crochets.

Don't cut the yarn, turn it to the wrong side 1 row lower.

In such a way, you'll make a placket for the zipper, which is located up and down from the main cloth.

For making the placket, insert the crochet hook from the wrong side, catch the yarn from the right side and pull it.

Make a st at once without yarn over for crochet.

Catch the yarn and pull it once again.

Make 2 rows in spiral order. Make corners in the 2nd row in the places, where folds will be located, crochet 4 sts together.

Prepare backing and scissors, cut the semi, which should be 2 cm wider than the bag itself.

Sew zipper with the backing to the crochet base.
