You’ll need:

8 skeins of red (# 292.301) Bergere de France Toison yarn (77% acryl, 20% wool, 3% polyamide; 70m/50g);

2 skeins of brown (# 272.921) Bergere de France Galaxie yarn (80% acryl, 18% wool, 2% polyester; 70m/100g);

Knitting needles 6;

Pompom maker;

1 golden pin.

Size: 45 х 151 cm.

Garter stitch: knit sts.

Rhombs pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 10 + 1.

1^st row: 3 knit sts, *knit2tog, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st, 1 broaching, 5 knit sts*; repeat from * to *, 3 knit sts instead of 5 knit sts;

2^nd and all even rows: purl;

3^rd row: 2 knit sts, * knit2tog, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 1 broaching, 3 knit sts*; repeat from * to *, 2 knit sts;

5^th row: 1 knit st, * knit2tog, 1 yarn over, 5 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 1 broaching, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to *;

7^th row: knit2tog, 1 yarn over, 7 knit sts, * 1 yarn over, 1 double broaching, 1 yarn over, 7 knit sts*; repeat from * to *, 1 yarn over, 1 broaching;

9^th row: 1 knit st, * 1 yarn over, 1 broaching, 5 knit sts, knit2tog, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to *;

Repeat 1^st-16^th rows.

Stitches control: 12 sts x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 57 sts with red yarn and work in the following way: 3 sts of garter stitch, 51 sts of rhombs pattern, 3 sts of garter stitch. In 151 cm = 288 rows from set-up row (= 18 rhombs), bind off all sts.

Assembly

Sew the first 5 rhombs with “needle forward” stitch. Make 10 tassels 8 cm long with Galaxie yarn. Make 2 pompoms 9 cm diameter.
