Mastering Chain Stitches and Single Crochet Techniques

The quantity of stitches is multiple 2 + 1 + 1 chain stitch increase.

1st Row (WS)

1 single crochet (sc) into 2nd chain from hook, *1 chain, skip 1 chain, 1 single crochet into next chain; repeat from * to end, turn;

2nd Row

1 chain, 1 single crochet into 1st stitch, 1 chain, single crochet two together (sc2tog) inserting the hook into each of the next 2 chain spaces, 1 chain, *single crochet two together inserting the hook into the same chain space as previous stitch then into next chain space, 1 chain; repeat from * ending with 1 single crochet into last stitch, skip turning chain, turn;

3rd Row

1 chain, 1 single crochet into 1st stitch, *1 chain, skip 1 chain, 1 single crochet into next stitch; repeat from * to end, skip turning chain, turn.

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows.
