Special Stitches Instructions for Knitting: Left and Right Cross Techniques

Special Stitches

Left cross: Slip 2 sts to dpn and hold in front; purl 2, yarn over; from dpn knit 2 knit sts together through back loop.

Right cross: Slip 2 sts to dpn and hold in back; knit 2 knit sts together, yarn over, purl 2 from dpn.

The quantity of sts is a multiple of 18 + 1.

Row Instructions

1st Row (RS): Purl 1, *knit 2, purl 4, knit 2, purl 1*; repeat from * to *;

2nd and All WS Rows: K1, *p2, k4, p2, k1*; repeat from * to *;

3rd Row: Purl 1, *left cross, right cross, purl 1, knit 2, purl 4, knit 2, purl 1*; repeat from * to *;

5th Row: Purl 1, *knit 2, purl 4, knit 2, purl 1*; repeat from * to *;

7th Row: Purl 1, *knit 2, purl 4, knit 2, purl 1, left cross, right cross, purl 1*; repeat from * to *;

8th Row: Knit 1, *purl 2, knit 4, purl 2, knit 1*; repeat from * to *.
