How to Crochet a Stunning Blue-Green Sweater Using Clou Yarn

You’ll Need:

900g of blue-green Clou yarn (75% sheep wool, 25% polyacryl; 85m/50g);

Crochet hook 7;

4 big and 4 small buttons.

M-L.

Used Patterns

Main Pattern:

1^st row: half-crochets, start every row with 2 chain sts increase instead of the 1^st half crochet and finish with 1 half crochet in the last chain st increase of the previous row;

2^nd row: half-crochets, insert crochet hook in front of upper part of previous row st (= 2 upper threads of double crochets lay on RS side of work; cross stripe is on RS);

3^rd row: as the 2^nd row, insert crochet hook back under upper part of cross st of the previous row (= 2 upper threads of double crochets lay on RS side of work; cross stripe is on RS).

Repeat 2^nd-3^rd rows.

Stitches Control:

9.5 sts x 5.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back and Front:

Make 61 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase for left half of front and work with the main pattern. For smooth rounding, increase 1 st in the 2^nd row from the left side and 2 x 1 st and 1 x 4 sts in every following = 68 sts.

Then, leave 3 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the left side for shoulder chamfer = 65 sts.

In 23.5 cm = 13 rows from the set-up row, leave 23 sts from left side for arm-hole = 42 sts.

In 32.5 cm = 18 rows from the set-up row, make 23 chain sts from the left side and fasten them with main pattern = 65 sts.

Increase 3 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the left side for back shoulder chamfer = 68 sts. Then, crochet straight. In 56.5 cm = 31 rows from the set-up row, the middle of back is reached. Then, crochet in symmetry.

Sleeves:

Make 10 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase and work with the main pattern. For sleeve chamfer, make 2 x 15 sts and 1 x 14 sts in every 2^nd row from the left side = 54 sts. In 24 cm from the set-up row, the middle of sleeve is reached. Then, work in symmetry.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams, sew up the sleeves, sew the upper 4.5 cm to the lower edges of arm-holes, make sleeve seams. For plackets, fasten neck-hole with 3 rows of single crochets. Fasten the edges of front and plackets with 1 row of slip sts, fasten the edges with the 1^st row. Fasten the lower edges of sleeves in the same way. Sew big button on the left front.

Collar:

Make 38 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase and work with the main pattern. In 100 cm from the set-up row, finish your work. Fasten collar with slip st. Sew small buttons to 1 short side.
