1^st row: Beginning in the second chain from your hook, work one single crochet stitch and one double crochet stitch (both in the same stitch. Skip the next chain, single crochet and double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat that all the way across: skip the next chain, then single and double crochet in the next stitch. When you come to your final chain, single crochet in the final stitch. Chain one and turn your work;

2^nd row: Into the first single crochet stitch work one single crochet and one double crochet stitch. Skip the next double crochet. Into the next single crochet, work one single crochet and one double crochet stitch.

Repeat 1^st-2^nd rows.
