How to Crochet a Stylish Skirt with Deborah Norville Collection Serenity Garden Yarn

You’ll Need:

3 balls of Deborah Norville Collection Serenity Garden (800-03 Hibiscus) (169m/65g);

Crochet hook 5.5 mm.

Size:

S-M.

Stitch Control:

15 stitches = 10 cm.

Instructions

Make a foundation chain of 112 chain stitches plus 1 additional chain or multiples of 4 (4x28) chains + ch.1. Join the 1st and last chains with a slip stitch (sl.st.) to crochet in the round.

Round Instructions:

1st rnd: single crochet (sc) to end;

2nd-9th rnds: front loop single crochet (flsc) to end;

10th rnd: flsc to end plus sl.st.1 with the 1st chain of the following round;

11th rnd: ch 1 to pick up the height, double crochet (dc) to end + sl.st. 1 with the 2nd chain of the following round;

12th rnd: ch 1, [skip 1, dc3, cr.st.1*] to end of the round + sl.st.1 in the 2nd ch. of the following round;

13th-14th rnds: flsc to end;

15th rnd: as the 10th round;

16th rnd: as the 11th round;

17th rnd: as the 12th rnd;

18th-20th rnds: flsc to end;

21st rnd: continue flsc increasing chains with about even intervals between each increase or every 14 chains. You should have 8 chains more by the end of the round;

22nd-30th rnds: flsc to end;

31st rnd: as the 21st rnd, but increase every 15 chains;

32nd-60th rnds: flsc to end.

Repeat 10th-20th rnds.

If you want the skirt to be longer, crochet more rounds of flsc.

Elastic

You need about 1 yard of elastic for the project.

To put the elastic in, attach the yarn to the initial foundation chain and join the 1st and 9th rounds together on the wrong side of your work, matching closely the chains of both rounds. Insert the elastic into the opening using a pin and sew both ends together. After that, cover the hole entirely. Cut the yarn and secure it (if any).
