You’ll Need

400g of green 100% cotton yarn;

25g of the same color, but in light-green color;

Knitting needles 2;

Crochet hook 2.

Size

6-8 years.

Used Patterns

  • Garter stitch: knit sts;
  • 5 x 2 rib: 5 knit sts, 2 purls;
  • Cable pattern: due to the scheme.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 126 sts and make 40 cm of 5 x 2 rib.

Then, work with cable pattern for 7 cm. Bind off the central 26 sts for neck-hole and finish each side separately, bind off 1 x 4 sts and 1 x 2 sts in every 2nd row (make 2 parts at the same time from 2 different balls). Bind off the rest sts of shoulder.

Front

Make in the same way as back, but with a deeper neck-hole. For this, bind off the central 18 sts and then make each side separately (at the same time on 1 knitting needle from 2 balls). Bind off 1 x 4 sts, 2 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row. Bind off the sts at the height of back.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 94 sts along arm-hole and work with cable pattern for 8-9 cm. Then, make side seams. Fasten sleeves and neck-hole with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “shrimp stitch” with light-green yarn and crochet hook.

Belt

Cast on sts (the width of the belt is 2 cm) and work with garter stitch to the needed length, fasten the crochet hook with 1 row of single crochets with light-green yarn. Make 4 belt loops (1.5 x 7 cm), sew them below the waist line and insert the belt.
