How to Create a Stylish Woolen Jacket with Pockets

You’ll Need:
450 (500) 500g of light-grey 100% wool yarn (115m/50g);
50g of the same yarn, but in light-pink and light-green colors;
Crochet hook 4;
7 silver buttons (about 12 mm diameter).
Size:
S (M) L.
Used Patterns
Main Pattern:
Half crochets. Start every row with 2 chain sts increase instead of the 1st half crochet and finish with 1 half crochet in the last chain st increase of the previous row.
Pocket Bag (Make 2):
Make 18 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase with light-green yarn and work with the main pattern. In 6.5 cm = 9 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.
Stitches Control:
Main pattern: 17 sts x 13.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Back:
Make 74 (81) 88 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase with light-green yarn and make 1 RS row with the main pattern for placket. Continue work with light-grey yarn, starting with 1 RS row. In 31 (30) 29 cm from the set-up row, skip 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes and bind off 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts = 56 (63) 70 sts. In 49 cm from the set-up row, skip the central 26 (27) 26 sts for neck-hole and finish your work in 50 cm from the set-up row on the rest 15 (18) 22 sts of shoulder.
Left Front:
Make 38 (42) 46 chain sts + 2 chain sts increase and continue work in the same way as for back. For pocket cut, crochet the central 18 sts in the next RS row with light-green yarn in 6.5 cm = 9 rows from the set-up row. Leave light-green sts in the next WS row and continue work on sts of pocket bag instead of these sts. Make decreases for arm-holes from the right side in the same way as for back = 29 (33) 37 sts. In 36 cm from the set-up row, skip 11 (12) 12 sts for neck-hole from the left side. For smooth rounding, bind off 3 x 1 st in every row from inwards. Finish your work on the rest 15 (18) 22 sts at the height of back.
Right Front:
Make in reflection to the left front.
Sleeves:
Make 33 (35) 37 sts + 2 chain sts increase with light-green yarn for each sleeve and work with the main pattern. In 1.5 cm = 2 rows from the set-up row, continue work with light-grey yarn. In 7 cm from the set-up row, increase 1 st from both sides for sleeve chamfers and then, bind off 10 x 1 st in every 4th and 6th rows by turn = 55 (57) 59 sts. In 44 cm from the set-up row, bind off 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps and 2 x 2 sts and 3 (4) 5 x 1 st in the next row, 4 x 1 st in every 2nd row and 3 x 1 st, 2 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 sts in every next row. Finish your work on the rest 7 sts in 14 (15) 15.5 cm from the beginning of sleeve cap.
Assembly
Make all the seams; sew up the sleeves. Sew pocket bags to WS of front. For upper pocket plackets, make 13 half crochets with pink yarn; for this, insert the crochet hook in the corresponding sts from RS. Make pocket plackets 4 rows lower beginning of neck-hole and in 12 sts distance from front edges. Sew plackets. Fasten front and edge of neck-hole with 1 row of single crochets with light-green yarn and 1 row of “shrimp stitch” with pink yarn. Sew buttons. For strap, make a chain of the needed length with light-green yarn and insert it 2 cm higher than pockets plackets.
