You’ll need:

2 skeins of Bernat Velvet yarn;

Crochet hook 6 mm;

Yarn needle;

Scissors.

Size: S (5/6 years), M (7/8 years), L (9/10 years), XL (11/12 years)

Width across the back: S (13”) M (14.5”) L (16”) XL (17.5”);

Length: S (17”) M (18.5”) L (20”) XL (21.5”);

Armhole: S (6.5”) M (7”) L (7.5”) XL (8”);

Sleeve: S (14.5) M (15.5”) L (16.5”) XL (17.5”).

Stitches control: 11 sc x 14 rows = 4″

Front

Ch 9

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook and across (8)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in first, sc blo in next 6, sc in last (8)

Repeat row 2 to Row 37 (41) [45] {49}

Turn work so you are working across the long side of the ribbed band

Row 1: ch 1, sc in the end of each row across (37, (41) [45], {49})

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (37, (41) [45], {49})

Repeat row 2 to Row 42 (46) [50] {54}

The neckline begins in the next row and ends with 1 sc2tog

Row 43 (47) [51] {55}: ch 1, turn, sc in 17 (19) [21] {23} stitches, sc2tog (18, (20), [22], {24})

Row 44 (48) [52] {56}: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in remaining stitches across (17, (19) [21] {23})

Sewing

Lay the front on top of the back, wrong side out. Use the long end to sew the shoulders closed with a whip stitch

Sew the sides closed using a whip stitch leaving about a 6.5” (7”) [7.5”] {8”} space at the top for arm holes

Sleeves

Join yarn to bottom of arm hole.

Round 1: ch 1, sc evenly around arm hole, join to first sc with sl st

Round 2: ch 1, sc2tog, sc around to last 2 stitches, sc2tog, join to first sc with sl st

Round 3 – 5: ch 1, sc around, join to first sc with sl st

Repeat round 2 – 5 to Round 44 (47) [50] {53}

Fasten off, weave in the ends.

Repeat other sleeve.
