You'll need:

About 30g of Vita Harmony yarn (45% wool, 55% acryl; 110m/100g);

About 90g of Laponie yarn (55% polyacryl, 45% wool; 110m/100g);

Circle knitting needles 3,00 и 4,00;

Crochet hook.

Head circumference: 52-58 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 87 sts with knitting needles 3 (86 sts foor 1 x 1 rib (pattern repeat is 2 sts) + 1 auxilary st for cirlce.

Change to knitting needles 4. After beginning, you'll need to decrease 1 st in the 1st row, make first 2 sts as purls. The hat consists of 5 pattern repeats, i.e., 85 sts.

1st row: * 3 purls, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 9 knit sts*;

2nd row: * 3 purls, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 8 knit sts*;

3rd row: * 3 purls, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 7 knit sts*;

4th row: * 3 purls, 3 knit sts, 1 yarn over, knit2tog with left decling, 6 knit sts*;

5th row: * 3 purls, 4 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 5 knit sts*;

6th row: * 3 purls, 5 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 4 knit sts*;

7th row: * 3 purls, 6 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 3 knit sts*;

8th row: * 3 purls, 7 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 2 knit sts*;

9th row: * 3 purls, 8 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 1 knit st*;

10th row: * 3 purls, 9 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline.

Make 4 pattern repeats in height (17 cm), then, starting from the 1st row of new pattern repeat, start making the crown.

Crown

Change to double pointed needles 4.

1st row: * 3 purls, 3 knit sts, knit2tog with right decline, 9 knit sts*, knit the last st in the 5th cable together with the 1st purl of the 2nd row as knit st with left decline;

2nd row: * 1 purl, knit2tog with right decline, 2 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 7 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline*;

3rd row: * knit2tog with right decline, 2 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline, 7 knit sts*.

Make decreases in the rest rows of each cable in 2 places:

In the middle of cable, knit2tog with left decline;

In the end of cable knit the last st of the 1st cable together with the 1st st of the 2nd cable.

Then, decrease the sts, continue connecting sts together (knit2tog with left decline) in the places, where you see broaching cables due to the ornament.

Stop, when there'll be 8-12 sts left on the knitting needles in order to tighten them. Cut the yarn 10 cm. By means of crochet hook draw this yarn through all the sts on the knitting needles and tighten. Fasten and cut the yarn.
