You'll need:

120g of Nako Arctic yarn (40% wool, 60% acryl, 100m/100g);

Circle knitting needles 3,5 mm;

Double pointed knitting needles 3,5 mm;

Crochet hook 4,0 mm.

Instructions

Ears

You should make ears separately, then, they'll connect.

Cast on 4 sts.

Knit selvedge st due to the ornament, don't slip them.

Make yarn overs in wrong side rows throug bottom lobe of st.

1st and all the odd rows: purl;

2nd row: 1 knit st, yarn over, 2 knit sts, yarn over, 1 knit st (6);

4th row: 1 knit st, yarn over, 4 knit sts, yarn over, 1 knit st (8);

6th row: 1 knit st, yarn over, 6 knit sts, yarn over, 1 knit st (10);

8th row: 1 knit st, yarn over, 8 knit sts, yarn over, 1 knit st (12);

10th row: 1 knit st, yarn over, 10 knit sts, yarn over, 1 knit st (14);

12th row: 1 knit st, yarn over,12 knit sts, yarn over, 1 knit st (16).

Now, connect the ears. Take first ear and knit it in the following way:1 knit st, yarn over, 15 knit sts, cast on 18 auxilasry sts for back part of hat and attach the second ear, 15 knit sts, yarn over, 1 knit st.

Next row - purl.

Make 2 more rows.

Rib

Start the row with * 1 knit st, yarn over, 2 purls, 2 knit sts; repeat from * to end.

Next row is rib (due to the ornament).

Then, start knitting with rib on circle knitting needles without increases, cast on 30 auxilary sts for front part in the end. You should get 84 sts. Knit around with 2 x 2 rib 3 cm.

Pattern repeat is 12 sts wide and 8 rows in height. Knit, repeating the pattern in width 7 times. The ornament consists of strap and small cable.

Crown

After knitting 3 pattern repeats in height, start decreasing sts.

1st row: * 2 purls, 2 knit sts, knit2tog, 6 knit sts* (77);

2nd row: * 2 purls, strap (at first, knit the 2nd st, then 1st as knit sts), 1 purl, 6 knit sts*;

3rd row: transfer the sts to the double pointed knitting needles, * purl2tog, 2 knit sts, 1 purl, 6 knit sts* (70);

4th row: * 1 purl, strap from 2 sts, 1 purl, 6 knit sts*;

5th row: * 1 purl, 2 knit sts, 1 purl, 6 knit sts*;

6th row: * 1 purl, knit2tog, 1 purl, 6 knit sts* (63);

7th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, 6 knit sts*;

8th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, cable with left decline - slip 3 sts to the auxilary needle and leave in front of work, 3 knit sts, knit sts from the auxilary needle as knit*;

9th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, 6 knit sts*;

10th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, knit2tog through lower lobe of st, 2 knit sts, knit2tog through front lobe of st*;

11th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, 4 knit sts*;

12th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, knit2tog through lower lobe of st, knit2tog through up lobe of st*;

13th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st, 1 purl, knit2tog*;

14th row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st*.

Tighten the sts and turn the yarn to wrong side of hat, fasten the yarn.

Make straps and pompom.
