For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:

  • 220 grams of Stylecraft Special Aran yarn in colour 1
  • 170 grams of Stylecraft Special Aran yarn in colour 2
  • 190 grams of Stylecraft Special Aran yarn in colour 3
  • 6.00mm crochet hook for the main part and 5.00mm hook for the border

UK Instructions

Made in multiples of 2.

With 6.00mm hook and colour 1, make 106ch loosely, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (105dc)

2nd Row – 2ch, * miss 1dc, (1htr, 1ch, 1htr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1htr into next dc. Turn. (51 v-stitch, 1htr +2ch)

3rd Row – 2ch, work 1 v-stitch into each 1ch space to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn.

4th to 7th Rows – Rpt 3rd Row. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt 3rd Row in colour sequence as follows:

RND 1: Twice in colour 2, six times in colour 3, twice in colour 2, six times in colour 1. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt from RND 1 until 87 rows have been worked in all from beginning (including the first dc row). Turn. DNFO.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each htr to end. Turn. Fasten off.

Border

With 5.00mm hook and colour 2, make 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, 3dc into corner, work dc evenly into row ends down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along the starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, work dc evenly into row ends up second side of blanket, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.

Working 3dc into corners, start with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 2 more rows of dc around blanket, ss to first dc on beginning of each row. Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
