Pattern Stitch
Front Post Single Crochet (FPsc): Insert hook from front to back to front around post of st indicated; YO and draw up lp, YO and draw through both lps on hook - FPsc made.
Instructions
Note: To change color, work until 2 lps of last st remain on hook. With new color, YO and draw through 2 lps on hook. Cut old color.
With light green, ch 154.
Rows Instructions
Row 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch - 153 sc. Ch 3 {counts as first dc on following rows}, turn.
Row 2: Dc in each sc, changing to medium green in last dc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in each dc and in 3rd ch of turning ch-3. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: Sc in each sc. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 5 through 7: Rep Row 4. At end of Row 7, do not ch 1. Ch 3, turn.
Row 8: Dc in each sc, changing to dark green in last dc. Ch 1, turn.
Continuing the Pattern
Rows 9 through 14: Rep Rows 3 through 8, changing to light green at end of Row 14.
Rows 15 through 20: Rep Rows 3 through 8, changing to medium green at end of Row 20.
Rows 21 through 200: Rep Rows 3 through 20 ten times more.
Rows 201 through 212: Rep Rows 3 through 14. At end of Row 212, do not change color.
Row 213: Sc in each dc and in 3rd ch of turning ch-3. Finish off and weave in all ends.
Wave Trim
Hold afghan with right side facing you and begin ch at top; join light green around post of 2nd dc on Row 2 from right.
Row 1 (right side): Ch 1, FPsc around same dc as joining; FPsc around post of each rem dc to last dc. Ch 6 {counts as first dc and picot on following row}, turn, leaving rem dc unworked.
Shell Trim Instructions
Row 2: Sl st in 3rd ch from hook - picot made; 3 dc in first sc; * sk next 5 sc, in next sc work {3 dc, ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, 3 dc} - shell made; rep from * 23 times more; sk next 5 sc, in next sc work {3 dc, ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, dc}. Finish off.
With matching yarn, repeat shell trim on all dc rows. Weave in all ends.
