The quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2.

st row: Using yarn A, chain 18. DC in the 4th ch from hook, ch3, dc in the same 4th ch, ch1, *skip 3ch and work into the 4th [dc, ch3, dc], ch1 – repeat from * till the end of row, skip 1 ch, dc into the last ch. At the end when you have 2 loops on your hook you will add a new yarn color. Normally, you would yarn over and pull thought last 2 loops to finish a dc. Instead draw yarn b through the last 2 loops on your hook. Do not cut the yarn A and go on crocheting with yarn B. Ch4, turn;

nd row: work into the same loops and you worked in Row 1 [dc, ch3, dc], ch1 – repeat till the end of row, dc into the 2d ch (count from the bottom). Do not cut the yarn and do not turn;

rd row: Go back to the beginning of the row (to the right side), and draw yarn A through the 3d ch. Ch4, * [dc, ch3, dc] – into the ch3 space of the Row 1 (ch3 space made with yarn A), ch1 – repeat from * till the end of row, dc. Make the last dc inserting the hook underneath the last st and through the open loop. Do not cut the yarn. Pull tight yarn B and then draw it through the working loop. Ch4, turn;

th row: [dc, ch3, dc] – into the ch3 space of the Row 2 (ch3 space made with yarn B), ch1 – repeat from * till the end of row, dc into the 2d ch (count from the bottom). Do not cut the yarn and do not turn;

th row: as the 3rd row;

th row: as the 4th row.
